FanDuel is a Legit Sportsbook

As long as you reside in a state where FanDuel operates and sports betting is legal, yes! FanDuel made the jump from daily fantasy sports to sports betting a few years ago as states legalized wagering on sports. They are one of the most trustworthy and stable companies you can choose to bet with. In short, FanDuel is a fully legitimate sportsbook.

How to Sign Up & Fund Your Account

The signup process is a little different in every state, but you can visit their site or download their iOS or Android app for more detailed instructions.

Funding Options

FanDuel makes funding your account as fast and painless as possible with several easy options. The minimum deposit is currently $10 for all methods, there are $0 in fees for all options, and most deposit methods fund your account instantly! The one exception is using the wire transfer method, which can take up to 24 hours to confirm and be added to your account.

FanDuel Deposit Methods

Withdrawals

FanDuel’s withdrawal options are a cut-above most of the other sportsbooks in the industry. While not quite “instant” there are never any fees and most payments are completed in 12-48 hours. In addition to depositing directly into your checking account, you can also use a verified PayPal or Venmo account, which is a welcome option that most competitors do not offer.

FanDuel Promo Codes, Signup Bonuses & More

There are on-going promotions at FanDuel that existing customers can take advantage of, plus one of the better sign-up bonuses in the industry. Promos are subject to change, so it’s always best to check the site or app directly to see what is available, however, we do want to highlight some of the better options that are available to you.

Signup Bonus

New users get a 100% risk-free bet up to $1,000 on their first bet. Β Just sign up, make a deposit and make your first wager. If that first bet loses, FanDuel will refund up to $1,000 to your account in site credit within 72 hours!

As with most bonus offers, it’s a good idea to read the full terms and conditions to make sure you qualify and that you know exactly what you are getting, how you can use it, and when you can withdrawal it before making a decision.

Loyalty Program

At this time FanDuel doesn’t have a loyalty program to speak of. Clients get access to a lot of odds boosts and free contests, but we were not able to find details on any kind of points-based loyalty systems. In our view, this is not necessarily a bad thing. Most loyalty programs only reward you for constantly betting and end up giving minimal rewards. It is somewhat refreshing to not have to feel like you are chasing points for what amounts to an insignificant payoff.

FanDuel Odds Boosts & On-Going Bonuses

FanDuel $1000 Risk Free Bet

FD runs a ton of “Odds Boosts” throughout the season in just about every sport. A lot of times these are bets with either a great shot at winning a little extra money, or alternate odds on a player or event that come with a much better payout. Β It is worth noting that there are strict limits on how much you can bet on boosts since they are a much bigger risk to the book, however, we have found that it is still worth your time to check them out daily and bet on any that appeal to you. If you are selective enough, you should come out ahead using FanDuel’s Odds Boosts.

Betting at FanDuel

FanDuel is more focused that some other books in that they really only offer odds on the most popular sports. If you like betting on darts or table tennis, FD probably isn’t for you, however, 99% of bettors out there will have access to bet on whatever they want and more.

FanDuel also has live betting for most major markets!

Recommendation: Is FanDuel the Right Sportsbook for You?

FanDuel is the perfect book for most casual bettors. They are not as aggressive as some lesser-known books with their promotions, however, the quality of bonuses and odds boosts available do help make up the difference. Their site and app is easy to use for most events, however, we did have a hard time digging for certain events or bet types. There is a bit of a learning curve if you are betting more obscure lines.

All in all we give FanDuel a full recommendation for most bettors. With that said, bigger bettors will be better served looking elsewhere. If you are someone who wagers more than $500 per game, there is a risk of being limited if you are consistently beating their closing line. Β While this is discouraging, it is a standard practice for legal books in the US to limit sharp bettors.
